Taking orders
How drafts, confirmation, editing, statuses and reordering work for dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders.
The Orders screen is where your team spends most of the day. It is built so that a stray tap never costs you an order number.
Start an order
Choose New order, then pick the order type:
- Dine-in, with a table
- Takeaway
- Delivery, available on Starter and above
Add items from the picker. Use the search box or the category chips to narrow the list. If an item has variants or add-ons, choose them before adding.
Drafts and confirmation
What you build is a draft. The order does not exist yet, and no order number is used, until you press Confirm order. Confirm is disabled until at least one item is added. If you change your mind, discard the draft and nothing is recorded.
Order numbers
Order numbers are one running number for your whole business, shared by all outlets and never reset at midnight. They carry a short prefix made from your business initials, for example LPC12 for Love Pizza Cafe. On the desktop and Android tills, an order created while offline receives its real number when it syncs.
Editing an order
Open an order and choose Edit order. Changes are staged: you can add items, change quantities and remove lines, and nothing is applied until you press Save order changes. Cancel discards everything you staged.
Statuses
An order moves through: open, placed, preparing, ready, served and completed. Takeaway and delivery orders skip "served". You can cancel an order up to the point it reaches preparing; after that the food may already be made. A completed order is only allowed once the balance is paid, see Payments and settlements.
The orders list
The top of the list shows today's numbers: orders, repeat orders, average completion time, delayed orders (open longer than 30 minutes) and cancelled. Use the status tabs and the order-type filter to find what you need.
Customers and repeat orders
Type a customer's phone number to see whether they have ordered before, along with their last two orders. You can repeat a whole order or a single item. From any completed order you can also choose Reorder, which creates a new draft at today's prices, not the old ones.
Invoices
Completed orders can be viewed as an invoice or receipt and downloaded as a PDF.
