Apps and devices

The web till, the desktop app and the Android till compared: what each one does, which keep working without internet, and how they print.

Snapitto runs on three kinds of till. They share one account, one menu and the same orders, so you can mix them in the same outlet.

The web till

Open it in Chrome, Edge or Safari and sign in. Nothing to install, and it is always the latest version. It has every screen: orders, Menu Setup, offers, stock, customers, reports, billing and settings.

It needs the internet. If your outlet's connection is unreliable, use the desktop or Android till at the counter and keep the web till for the owner's laptop, an office or a back-of-house screen.

Printing from a browser: receipts and kitchen tickets print to a USB thermal printer from Chrome or Edge, or to a network printer through a small helper program. Bluetooth printing from a browser only works with a few printers, so use the desktop or Android till for Bluetooth.

The desktop app

For Windows and Mac. It saves every order on the computer first and sends it when there is a connection, so billing, payments and kitchen tickets keep working with no internet. It prints straight to USB, paired Bluetooth printers and printers on your network, and it updates itself.

Menu Setup, offers and reports need a connection. See Working offline for what syncs and how.

The Android till

For Android phones, tablets and Chromebooks (a Chromebook runs it as an Android app). It is built for the counter: order taking, payments, kitchen tickets and receipts, offline-first like the desktop app, with Bluetooth, USB and network printing. It syncs in the background.

Menu Setup, offers, stock and reports are in the web till and the desktop app.

Which one should I use?

  • A busy counter with patchy internet: the desktop app or the Android till.
  • A tablet or phone at a table or a small stall: the Android till.
  • The owner's laptop, an office or a back-of-house screen: the web till.
  • Several tills in one outlet: any mix. They sync with each other when connected.

The customer app

A separate ordering app for your customers (Android first, iPhone later) is coming soon. Orders from it will arrive on your till for you to accept.
