Printing KOT and receipts
Connect USB, Bluetooth or network printers, pick a layout and understand reprint marks on kitchen tickets.
Snapitto prints real ESC/POS thermal tickets, sized for 80mm paper at 42 characters per line.
Two documents
- KOT (kitchen order ticket): what the kitchen makes. It has no prices.
- Receipt or invoice: what the customer takes. With a GSTIN set, it becomes a TAX INVOICE.
If you print a KOT again after changing an order, lines added since the last KOT are marked ++ and removed lines are marked --, so the kitchen does not cook the same thing twice. You can also send only selected items to the kitchen, for example starters now and mains later.
Layouts and templates
In Settings › Printing choose a layout for each document:
- Classic
- Columns: an Item / Qty / Price table (the KOT version has no price column)
The bill template has logo text, a header and a footer, shared across your business. A live sample preview shows how it will look. Each field has a length limit shown as a counter.
Connecting a printer
Each till can have a different printer for KOT and for receipts.
- USB: in the web till, use Chrome or Edge, then pair the printer from Printing settings. Safari and Firefox cannot do this.
- Bluetooth: in a browser only printers that support Bluetooth Low Energy work. Many thermal printers use classic Bluetooth; those work in the Android app.
- Network (IP): the printer is on your LAN at an address such as 192.168.1.50 on port 9100. The desktop and Android apps talk to it directly. A browser cannot open that kind of connection, so the web till needs the small Snapitto print relay installed once on each till computer. Your administrator can provide Mac and Windows installers. The Printing screen shows whether the relay is running.
There is a Test print button for each role. See Print to a network printer for a step-by-step guide.
Audit and failures
Every print is recorded against the order, and the buttons show how many times each document has been printed. If the physical printer fails, the order is not blocked; you see a message and can try again.
