Getting started with Snapitto

Create your business, sign in on a till, and understand the pieces you will use every day.

Snapitto is a point-of-sale system for restaurants and cafes. You take orders, print kitchen tickets, bill customers and see your sales, from a browser, a desktop app or an Android tablet. This page walks you through the first ten minutes.

Create your account

Go to the sign-up page and enter your business name and your own details. Snapitto creates three things instantly:

  • Your business
  • Your first outlet (a physical location)
  • An Owner login for you, on the Free plan

There is no waiting for approval. You can start setting up straight away.

Keep your Outlet ID safe. It is the short id shown after sign-up, something like love-pizza-cafe-x7k2. Every staff member needs it to sign in.

Signing in

Every sign-in uses three things:

  • The Outlet ID
  • Your email
  • Your password

The first time you sign in on a new device, that device registers itself automatically. You do not need to type a device code. How many devices you can use depends on your plan, and so does how many can be signed in at the same moment. You can sign out on one device and sign in on another at any time.

Choose your till

  • Web till: open it in Chrome, Edge or Safari. It is online-only. USB printing needs Chrome or Edge.
  • Desktop app: Windows and macOS. It keeps working without internet and syncs later.
  • Android till: for tablets and Chromebooks, also offline-capable.

The first things to set up

  1. Add your menu: categories, items and prices. See Menu setup.
  2. Set your taxes if you charge GST. See Taxes and GST.
  3. Connect a printer for kitchen tickets and receipts. See Printing KOT and receipts.
  4. Add your staff with the right permissions. See Staff and permissions.
  5. Take a test order.

Finding your way around

The main screens are Orders, Menu, Stock, Customers, Analytics and Settings. Settings holds Plan and usage, Taxes, Discounts, Printing, Outlets, and UI and layout (including sounds). Your business admin chooses the look of the app: light, dark, ocean or sunset.
