Set up your first outlet in 10 minutes
From sign-up to a working till with a small menu, tax, a printer and a staff login.
This walkthrough takes you from nothing to a till that is ready for a test order. Have your business name, a few menu items with prices and, if you charge GST, your rates and GSTIN to hand.
Steps
- Sign up. Open the sign-up page, enter your business name and your details, and submit. You land in your new business with an outlet and an Owner login on the Free plan.
- Write down your Outlet ID. It looks like
love-pizza-cafe-x7k2. Staff will need it, together with their email and password, every time they sign in. - Open the menu editor. Go to Menu and choose Manage.
- Add two or three categories. For example Pizzas, Sides and Beverages. Keep the names short because they become filter chips on the order screen.
- Add your first items. Enter a name, price and category for each. For a packaged drink with a printed MRP, set the tax mode to inclusive. For everything else that carries GST on top, use exclusive.
- Add a variant if you need one. Open a pizza's three-dot menu, choose Edit and add Half and Full with their own prices.
- Set up tax. Go to Settings › Taxes. Add your components, such as CGST 2.5% and SGST 2.5%. If you have a GSTIN, add it to your business details so receipts become tax invoices.
- Connect a printer. Go to Settings › Printing. Pick a layout and pair your printer, then press Test print. If you do not have a printer yet, skip this and come back later.
- Add a staff member. Create a record for a cashier, assign the Cashier position at your outlet, and set a password. Share the Outlet ID, email and password.
- Sign in as the cashier on a second browser window or device, if your plan allows a second device. On the Free plan you have one device, so sign out first and then sign in as the cashier.
Check that it worked
Open Orders and press New order. You should see your categories and items. If they do not appear, reload the page and make sure the items are not disabled.
Free plan limits: 1 outlet, 1 device, 100 items and 3 staff. You can see your usage any time in Settings › Plan & usage.
Common problems
- "Device limit reached": you are using more devices than your plan allows. Sign out of one, or read Plans and limits.
- Item missing from the picker: it may be disabled, out of stock or unavailable at this outlet.
- Printer not found in the browser: USB pairing needs Chrome or Edge.
