End of day checklist
A simple closing routine to clear open orders, confirm sync, review sales and sign out cleanly.
A consistent closing routine keeps your records clean and makes the next morning easy. Adapt this list to your outlet.
The checklist
- Open the Orders screen and look at the status tabs. Anything still open, placed, preparing or ready needs a decision.
- Finish or cancel stale orders. Complete orders that were served and paid. Cancel orders that were never made, remembering that cancellation is only allowed before the order reaches preparing.
- Check for unpaid balances. An order cannot be completed while a balance remains. Take the remaining payment, or use Settle to accept a lower amount if you agreed to.
- Review delayed orders. The stats at the top show orders open for more than 30 minutes. They are often a sign of forgotten orders.
- Handle refunds. Refunds for cancelled orders need internet and a permitted staff member. Do them while you are online.
- Update stock. On Starter and above, stock reduces when orders complete. Adjust counts for waste or a new delivery, then look at low-stock items for tomorrow's prep.
- Open Daily sales. Compare the total with the payments you recorded by method, and with the cash in the drawer. Note any difference.
- Look at Analytics. It is available on every plan. Note the best sellers and the quietest hours.
- If you are on the desktop or Android till, check the sync indicator. Wait until no changes are pending. If you worked offline, connect to the internet before leaving.
- Check printer paper and switch off printers if you wish.
- Sign out of each till. This frees its sign-in slot straight away. It matters if your plan limits how many devices can be signed in at once.
On the Free plan the limit is one device. Signing out at night avoids surprises in the morning.
Weekly additions
- Review which offers ran and whether they helped.
- Check Settings › Plan & usage to see how many orders you have used this month against your included amount.
- Review who has access. Remove staff who have left.
Why these steps matter
Your order numbers run continuously across outlets and never reset at midnight, so stale open orders do not clear themselves. Cleaning them up makes your daily numbers trustworthy.
